I had an issue where the grease inside the drum was like concrete (1985 90), drum face off, removed both 'actuators' (i think there called). this stopped the adjuster nut and also the main handbrake mechanism from moving once placed on. new grease, sorted.

I should be there, just goto sort thing ngine hunting problem on the V8.
