Replacing bent drag bar

1985 90.

the bar that connects the 2 front wheels (drak link i think its called) - where ya tracking's done- behind the axle. not the one that steers the wheels - the one that keeps them apart a set distance.

I had abit of a misshap on monday and its quite bent, wheels out diffrent directions. i have the new bar, any tips for fitting?

will post a pik when i get it off tonght.

count the number of threads showing so you know how far to screw the track rod ends onto the new bar. and to get it out dont hit the bottom of the track rod ends else you knacker the thread and wont be able to get the nut back on. hit the casing around it.

or screw the nut back on so it just protrudes from the track rod ends and hit the nut instead.;)

yer, tho if its really stuck and you hit a it a wee bit too hard you can end up trashing the threads if you mess up the castleations or woteva they r called which i hav done so when you wind it on you trash the thread behind it
