I am just going to attach a light to the rear of my 90, in planning the install i have done some looking around but cant find the answer.

I am a little confused when it comes to grounding things out, does the switch i will be installing (left hand side of driver) ground out to the batterys negative connector or to the landys chassis ground?

Many Thanks

Adie

Either way will have the result of earthing the switch, but earthing direct to the battery is a more reliable option.

If you are thinking of adding a lot of ancillaries fitting a earth bar to the bulkhead and running a wire direct to the battery would be an idea.

champion.

I will drop it to the battery as i have loads of spare wire.

I will look into the earth bar aswell as i will be fitting radio,cb, hardwire laptop and some other things in at a later date.

Thanks for the help

Most switches don't need earthing and and always use a relay never straight thru the switch. as this will prevent the switch from burning out. If you're not sure what needs doing. The subject has been covered loads of time A quick search will soon turn up plenty of advice.

Except for switches which have a warning lamp built in - they sometimes do need earthing, for the lamp.
