My timing belt broke and I need to order valves and hydraulic lifters for my 1998 XEDI 2.0 Diesel 8 valve Freelander. I'm looking at ones on fleabay but I dont know where to find my engine code to see if they will fit. the codes seem to be 20T4, 18K16, ect.
I know my VIN and engine No., but these are not what I need.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks

as a rough guess - and it is a guess - 20t4 refers to a 2 litre "T" series 4? valve petrol and 18k16 refers to a 1.8litre k series 16 valve petrol engine.

Hi,
The engine number is located on the side of the
cylinder block adjacent to Number 2 cylinder.

Engines fitted to Freelander have the following
prefixes to the engine serial numbers:-
20T2N17N
20T2N 18N
20T2N 20N
20T2N 21N

Hope this helps,

Nige

Do you know what the difference is with the 17N, 18N, 20N, 21N?
