Hi @Baldyged , welcome to LZ.

This is the "Introduce yourself area.
Tech help is else where at https://www.landyzone.co.uk/forum/range-rover.10/

We don't have a lot of Evoque using members on here and you will probably get some stick about "Hairdressers and Nail Varnish" (don't ask me why).
People will certainly try and help you. @gstuart is a really excellent chap and very well versed in the more modern stuff like Disco 3's and there may be some similarities between that and elements of an "E-joke".

Good Luck. :D

Welcome to the most important thing to get by the end of this sentence.
Evoque are generally thought of as an posh spice car. And with the added selection of airfreshners as it selling point. Best to hop over to the range rover section for better answer. Here you will be in for a ribbing.

Really, the engine management system has a problem, it pretty much can't be fixed and it ovewrites faults all by itself making diagnostics near to useless.
It also based (loosely) on the Ford EUCD platform (which was used on the Gaylander II) but 90% of its parts were redesigned (badly)......

Sell it quick ....

why thank u kind sir :)

indeed will see if the op posts over in the RR section

If it's anything like the Evokes I've seen, the the engine is probably in bits scattered around the engine bay and the road.

The timing chain goes quite often, but it sounds like you've got a serious ECU issue on your hands.
