Morning
As I am a new to this Freelander 2 Td lark. I am asking if I am supposed to have an audible tone(loud) after start up and system is going through its checks???
Also sometimes if I leave the key in with engine off. Half the dash switches off and on every few seconds and the tone is sounded. Annoying...
Now I take the key out if I have sit waiting in it..
Cheers

Hi wudntno1.
Would it be possible for you to do a video and upload it so we can judge the noise, it sounds like it could be the throttle body wearing, the cogs wear inside and start making a noise, also if you stop the car and leave the fob in the car then you are leaving things live, so best to always take out the fob in my opinion.

If it does turn out to be the throttle body, then there is a kit you can purchase to fix the fault.
THROTTLE BODY REPAIR KIT GEARS FOR LAND ROVER FREELANDER EVOQUE 2.2 TDCI TD4 | eBay

I am my self in the process of purchasing a spare used throttle body and the kit to make up a spare good one should i ever need it.

As everything on the FL2 is software controlled, your best bet is to have all error codes read, then decipher the meaning using the table, linked in my signature.

Sounds like the op means an audio tone sounds, like keys left in rather than a mechanical fault?

I dont know the FL2 at all but does it do clever things like that??

Ok will give the code clearance try first. Tried to download video, won't take a movie so will have to do a 2 second clip somehow?? Cheers guys.
Don't clear the codes, or you loose any history of past issues. LR don't recommend arbitrarily cleaning codes.
