Help with Starting problem

Hello,
I have a 1976 diesel 88 and replaced the injectors but wore the battery out so recharged it only to find it would not hold a charge so replaced it but nothing happened. I put a booster on which made the starter turn but slowly. I have tested the starter and it works so am stuck. Is there anyone in the Staffs moorlands who can help me get back on the road? Electrics are a mystery to me. Thank you.

You might be in the Wrong section mate, this is for people broken down and stranded at the roadside.
Sounds like you just cannot get your motor started and are safe at home.

Try connecting the Earth lead of the jumper to the engine block. Bad earth connections are notorious for giving the symptoms you describe.

Absolutely agree and also check all (positive) connections to the starter are good and tight. Eventually you should also go through the (earth) negative connections to the body and to the engine.
