I’m looking at getting a tdv8 4.4 can anyone tell me what are the bad points to look for
also what sort of fuel economy should I expect at 90 100 mph

As a getaway car for a bank robbery you'd be better off with a Jag..

And besides, you can't do 90-100 mph legally - Typo surely?

As for economy, a TDV8 4.4 should do "around" 30-35mpg at 60-70 over that i have no idea, it is a shed with an engine afterall, no aero..

As for bad points, everything in between the Front and Rear bumper can/will go wrong..

I have managed 9.6l/100klm on European good motorways and 10.6 with a big trailer for whole journey from us to middle Germany and back with trailer.
sorry leave the conversion to you.
but great for eating miles.

Hi thanks no typo error some of us drive in Europe
I have a defender puma so used to spending every now and then lol but it does 24 mpg at 81 mph with a stupid small fuel tank that needs refilling every 250 miles ish

Don't forget that the drag goes up to square of the speed so the difference between 75mph consumption and 100mph will be big.
At 100mph, I suspect you will get same or even worse than your defender but in more luxury.
As to things going wrong, every now and then isn't likely and parts for L322 models are scandalously expensive.
If I were still doing big miles in Europe I'd buy a car made for the job.
Other alternative is a v8 petrol on lpg.
