Hi Guy's, im hoping someone can advise me as im at a loose end.

My 4.4 TDV8 cut out on my way home last week, I had it towed back home and been testing bits since.

Ive got fuel upto the injectors (slow pours when the ignition is on & then pulsing when turning it over).

However, I go into live data on my diagnostic machine & it's shows that there is 0 fuel rail pressure.

Can anyone please advise me??

Many thanks in advance

Where you testing fuel pressure?
Did you fuel up before it broke down?

No, id already got fuel in, and I've only run live data on my diagnostic kit for the fuel pressure, unless you can tell me if there is a testing point?

Thanks

Have a look at the back of the v for a schraeder valve.

The low pressure code will most likely be related to the high pressure side of the fuel system, so cracking an injector pipe will not tell you anything useful.

Most common rail diesels go as follows, in tank electric pump puts fuel up to high pressure pump at very low pressure, under 1bar, then high pressure pump ramps this up to at least 200 bar just to start the engine then many times that whilst running.

Have a read of this.
Maybe a faulty pressure switch or PCV possibly.

Funny thing is there seems to be no "test port" on the rail.

Hi guy's, ive tried blanking 2 injectors off at a time, hoping that id get the rail pressure up..

Anyway, still showing 0 kpa's at the rail but seems to be pressure coming out of the pump when I crank it.

What would anyone advise for next steps??rail pressure sensor/ fuel pressure control valve?

I'd be handy if I could test these through live data (If anyone knows)..

Thanks in advance
