hi all,

Iv got a suspected failed cylinder head . I have got a spare in the garage which I was going to get tested and skimmed but my problem being all the push rods are mixed up.
I take it I can’t use those push rods as they are mixed up so if I brought new push rods is it’s simple as just dropping straight in?

I have mixed many pushrods up over the years, literally zero issues.
Good practice would be to use the ones currently fitted to the engine in the car, but again so ong as you adjust tappets when fitting head, crack on and dont give it a second thought.

If the head face looks good and cleans up nicely I would be fitting it straight onto the engine.

Just make sure al the rods are the same length, not bent or cap/bases worn
As above reset the tappers to suit.

(don't forget the thicker head gasket ;))

What makes you think it’s the head and not just the gasket? Or have you taken it off already and checked the gasket? As above just reuse the old ones already in there
