Hi, thought people might be interested in this. My head lining was horrendous and beyond repair. I was not willing to buy a replacement as many of them are over a grand. Decided to replace the headlining with EVA foam mats you can source from B & Q, Halford etc. Total cost was £30 plus some spray contact adhesive. Took about a day in total and a vast improvement over the original lining.

Only been up a couple of months but it's absolutely fine. Hope yours works out ok.

Im planning to silent coat, then add 3mm insulation over the top.
Planning to cover the foam insulation with a suede fabric before i stick it in place to give hopefully a nice finish and with the fabric pre applied to the foam... it should hopefully make fitting a lot easier.... just need to plat about with lights than for the interior. maybe LED strips in the channels
 
Working on a similar idea, respray of the roof, silent coat, closed cell mat and suede fabric ! Certainly wouldn't pay for my quality but it's good fun and definitely looks better
