Back looking at old ladrovers again.

Sale fell through on the 109 , mate was supposed to be buying it and I had to let several other folk down based on his promise to come good in October. October come and went and the third week in November I decided to contact him and let him know the sale was off . Turns out his house sale fell through hence no spare cash . But he neglected to let me know .

Long story short, weather has changed and looks like it will be a hard winter up here.. already lots of weather related disruption and power downs. Neighbour in front of me has had there power off for 4 days .So decided to hang onto the old 109 for winter and probably beyond .

Answered a local add for a spare steering box .Fella had some other parts including a full Land Rover branded head set. Since I was planning to fit new stem seals this was a no brainer for £10. Think I was meant to keep it .. Also started looking at camper conversions again...

But all of that aside , I was planning to put some of the cash from the sale into another landy project. So was always looking, this time for a SWB series .
Hunting through more local ads I came across a complete unrestored 69 series 2a . Looked like it was fairly unmolested and is running. Ive contacted the seller and spoke with them on the phone and now waiting for a few additional photographs so I can gauge the condition of a few of the common vulnerable areas ..

I was upfront in that another project is really not what I need right now, but if a good project comes up thats worthy of a full refurb then maybe its worth considering..

Asking price is £2000 , but was advertised as needing a chassis and possible a bulkhead . I would walk away if that was the case , but in conversation the seller did say a Landy anorak had looked it over and considered the chassis to be easily repaired with a couple of outriggers and a rear X member .. Serious rust was mainly in the footwells..

Kind of keen to do another on a budget .. depends on what turns up close to home :)
