And no, before you ask this isnt about my belly. Wanting to pick up half a dozen 20kg bags of sand and a dozen 450x450 paving slabs (cheap ones not the really heavy ones) to lay a base in my greenhouse - reckon the freelander would be ok for this? Was thinking about folding the seats up and sticking them in the via the back doors rather than have all that weight in the back - only need to drive them 4 or 5 miles from the nearest B&Q

It'll be fine. A couple of summers back I had 1.5 tons of aggregate in my trailer and another 1/2 ton in the back of the Freelander. It was absolutely fine, except for the TC clutch, which suddenly started to shudder, although that was my fault for being a bit over zealous with the throttle while climbing a hill. The suspension was ok though, a little tail down, but otherwise it was fine.

Hi geodark you’re 450x450x35mm slabs will weigh 16.5kg Each so 198kg for the slabs then the 120kgFor your sand total 320kg I have had more than that in mine many times and it was fine just spread the weight out evenly as you can and you won’t have any problems
