P38 emissions fail

Didn’t actually get a print out of the emissions fail. I will give them a call on Monday and see if they still have it? I replaced the exhaust from the cat back and will check tomorrow that it is all tight ( if it has a leak downstream from the O2 sensors would that effect emissions?).

Did you use plenty of exhaust paste on the joints or just put them together dry & clamp up?

Must admit it was raining cats and dogs when I dry fitted it, so I just clamped it all together! I will get under it again today and get the job done properly! ( must admit I thought as long as the exhaust was quiet that it was doing its job, didn’t realise it might have an effect on emissions).

oh I hate that paste. its mucky gets everywhere, doesn't seal well and a bugger to clean off.. I prefer to use heat resistant metal tape, wrap the joint slide the seal over and tube clamp
