Gloplug question

When I start my 2007 td4 the glow plug light doesn't come on. It hasn't been a problem till today (_4c) when it cranked over for a fair while and took 2 attempts before she fired up.
Any ideas?

My 59 fr2 was doing the same thing so I got it checked out at my local garage and all four plugs where not working so they replaced all four but it is a big job as they are buried behind the inlet manifold.
It cost £215 including labour but is worth while getting them done,I also replaced the battery as it was well down when they checked it.
The glow plug light only shows when the temperature is low and it only shows for a split second but now it starts straight away so in the long run it is money well spent.

Just done a quick scan. Getting p0100, p0103, p0336, and p0380.

I do not know what they mean but someone on here will know.
Had a quick google and some things refer to glow plugs,Have you checked the fuses under the bonnet as one of them is a fuse and relay for glow plug I am not sure which one but it should be marked.

So, I've got home from work and done another scan and p0100 and p0103 have vanished so all that is showing now are p0336, p0380 and p0670. The last code is something to do with the glowplug control module. The car started fine after work and drove fine with no lights on the dash.

As I said before I am no expert on codes but someone on here should help you out.
I am disabled so I just got my local garage to sort it out as they are very good and do not rip you off.
As it was mine was starting fine and driving ok until the cold came in then it showed up and needed attention.

I took the relay out last night and pushed it back in and this morning the glowplug light actually came on, all be it briefly. The temp. was showing - 6. If the glowplug light comes on does that mean the system is ok?

It seems as if the glow plugs are working so long as it starts up ok,I did read on another site that if the light comes on then goes off they are working.

it means the sensor is working correctly. not neccesserily the plugs they may need checking and replacing.
good luck getting them out it`s fun lol.

If I pre-heat my engine with my FBH, the EDC shuts down the glow plugs. This can then cause starting issues, as the intake air and fuel is still cold.

So the way around this is to start the engine with full throttle applied. This seems to give the kick the engine needs, so it starts ok, even without the glow plugs being heated.
