Snapped fanbelt

My belt has just snapped. What belt do I need, please? Bit of an emergency!

A lot depends on what engine you have, but I would fit a new one.

I’ve managed to work round it for this evening, the RAC are coming tomorrow to fit a belt, but I need to supply it. Apparently, Euro Carparts can get one, but I’m not sure what to order! The belt measured 1025 mm and it looks like a V belt is needed.

Part number should work with autoparts as well I would think.

Thank you. I phoned the RAC to say I had sourced the part from Euro Carparts and that they could collect it on their way to me, as advised by the guy who attended today. However, I was told the RAC must source their own parts and that the mechanic would not be allowed to collect the part! What’s the betting they turn up with the wrong part or no part tomorrow?

As for stockings, my wife isn’t that exotic and I don’t have a girlfriend...

All done. The RAC man was a star and I’m up and running again. Thanks for all your advice.

Get yourself a viscous fan spanner, a bar with a 15mm (?) socket, a strap wrench, a 13mm spanner, and a spare water pump and aux belt.

I've used those things more time that I would like to get back going. Saves a lot of pain having them ready to go. You WILL use them.

If you carry a 2m length of Fenner Link Belt, you'll never have any problems
