Not really - I just love checking out what's in their scrap pile. I love their currency - boxes of beer!
Good to have a spare alt and starter stashed away. I'll pull the head to bits later on. Might be able to flog that off on TM.

Finally finished - swapped the exhaust cam over to try and cure an irritating oil weep. Went for a test drive. Must have upset something with all my work as now I have the three amigos! Will recheck that ABS sensor I took out when I did the CV boot replacement ...

Tried to adjust hand brake as it sometimes struggles to hold on hills, every time I turned the nut it just spun back or jumped back...... Took hubs off still about 5-6mm shoes and hubs have hardly any wear,
Any one had this before? X

Sounds like the cable adjuster is at the end of its thread.
You will need to back off the adjuster and remove the drums, then adjust the internal adjusters in the drums until the shoes are a close fit in the drums ( keep trial fitting the drums over the shoes until you are happy with the fit ) but not dragging.
Then refit the drums and readjust the handbrake cable till the brake pulls on ( holding on the handbrake ) at between 4 and 7 clicks of the ratchet on the lever.

Quite easy really, just flick em around with a screwdriver, just be careful of the spring retainer which stops it backing off.
Just check that there is no internal lip on the drum, as any lip will need to removed before adjustment is attempted.

If you know that the rear shoes and drums are ok you can adjust the shoes from the rear of the drum removing the rubber grommet.
First back off the cable at the handbrake end inside the car then adjust at the rear wheel so they are gripping then back off so they just move, then re-adjust at the handbrake cables, so you have between 4 and 7 clicks when fully applied you should be looking for it to be holding on 4 clicks with 3 in reserve

Today I have mainly been changing discs and pads on me Freelander sport.
Cross drilled and grooved discs with ebc ultimax pads.
Nothing left of discs and pads that came off.
Definitely had my money's worth outta them.
Happy days.

Recently replaced the fuel pump in my K 1.8 FL. Decided to pull the original one apart to see what's what. Where it sat in the tank it was covered by a grey grime. Nearly 18 years of service I guess. The internal pick filter was especially clogged.
