Does anyone have an experience with Chevron 10W/40. I was in Costco today buying a car battery when I stumbled upon some engine oil.

While all the fancy castrol stuff is currently on offer I noticed that Costco are selling 20 Liter Containers of Chevron 10W/40 Semi-Synthetic for £40. Which I am thinking 3.33 oil changes and at that price I don't think I would be too fussed about changing oil two or three times a year.

Has anyone had bad experience with this oil?

Sorry for changing subject but how does one get a Costco card and are things much cheaper there?

own business, or get someone to add you, or be in some professions, like army, nurse, copper, etc.

iirc it's about 25quid a year, 12.50 for additional cards.

costwise, it's alright.. probably better prices online. the guarantee is good though. just take it back no quibbles.

it's basically a nicer makro.

food is alright, big pots/cans multipacks.

i'm sure you can go to cust services via the exit and get a guest card or at least have a mooch about. remember to add vat on it all :)

Good quality oil - I used to use it but now I have gone to the chevron 5w-30 in blue 20l from Costco which is a great product and I use it in everything from 300tdi to wife's honda cdti

Chevron is not a cheap oil, it gets sold at that price because Costco sell it in all of their warehouses, UK and USA and elsewhere.

Look at the specifications and you'll see it meets all the car and truck maker's requirements.

The diesel oil is a better oil than the petrol one, we use it in our D2 V8, have done since we fitted a short engine in 2009, no problems at all, done nearly 70k now on that engine and still using that diesel oil,

Much as Trax says, they do good fresh meat, fruit, in-store bakery plus clothes, tools, computer & phone stuff, sweets, tobacco etc etc.

We use our card in the USA as well, their alcohol prices aren't bad.

oh yeah, you can use your card anywhere. i've done a few usa ones, though they weren't having my visa debit card :/

yanks have much better stores than ours
