What have you done to your Landie today.

Changed the air filter, the old Fram one was minging, granted I only chucked a ****part one in, but it'll do for the jaunt over Frogland.

Changed the fan belt and tensioner - was going to just do the bearing, but thought it would be easier to whack a new tensioner on especially at 30 quid. Again, it were an allmakes one, but it'll do while I change the bearing on the Dayco one I took off. That'll be done in France one afty.

Changed the dud brake bulb on passenger side - to restart the problem with the rear lights not working when headlights on - fault isolated to passenger side headlight plug - all gunged up and melty looking - new spades on tomorrow, again just for the trip will get proper plug on our return.

Moved in round the back as i was informed there had been some suspicious people doing odd things in the area. Engine still not healthy!

Fitted the front axle extended breather pipe and sheared the one off the rear axle!

Am now totally peed off as I broke an EasyOut extractor, the end of which is still embedded in the stub!

Reset my idle speed and played about with fuel pump timing as per instructions from OldSeaDog - idle was spot on already. Tentative runs up and downy street seem to show slightly more 'lively' acceleration and less white smoke.

Going to take it for a 'high speed run' later. I advanced the timing (turned the pump away from the block) by about 1.5mm. 2mm made it puff a bit of smoke, and if i went the other way it ran like a sack of spanners in a cement mixer with a misfire. Will report back, although I imagine it's going to need a couple of goes to nail it.

Also fixed m sudden and prodigious oil leak from the rocker cover gasket - about 2inches of gasket was plain gone!

Also screwed together the 18mm ply I got spare for a small storage box in the back - it currently looks **** but I am hoping sanding, filling, painting and varnishing will hide my grievous wood working skillz.

Then I spread a ton and a half of topsoil and laid 10m2 of turf with the father in law. Now I am going to have a beer.

New lights with fittings al-round. LED's bulbs in front. Clear indicators on front.
Recon alternator.
Chassis painted with a mixture of under seal, paraffin and old engine oil mixed together.
Axle and suspension parts painted black with exterior paint.

Looking better for a 24yr old motor.

Pleased with my efforts.

Oh, changed the oil & filter.
Did it when we bought it and opinion was change it again after 3k as we did not know its history.

today i have brought some shultz some under seal and some hammerite ive painted the wheels iv jetted underneath and started shultzing it and under sealing it ill finish it soon but to be honest the chassis looked good anyway no rust i wana keep it that way

Not done anything personally but have taken my old Series 2A to Auto leccies in Castleford for them to sort out the nightmare wiring both behind the dash and in the engine compartment. Probably cost quite a lot but seeing as it blows fuses regularly I thought it best to let the professionals have a go at it as I would have just set it on fire. At least I'll have peace of mind this way.

cabbie hayens manual easy to follow digram its a bad earth unless you put thousands of lights and **** on it with block conecters.

Today I helped, supervised, OK, watched Pressbrake save my ninety by cutting an awful lot of rust off the back and welding on one of his HD crossmembers.

I think he's out of saw blades, cutting discs and gas for the mig now.

Cracking job though and well worth the hassle getting it there.

Tried to rewire my trailer socket on back of 90.

Colours all wrong, only five wires and no fog lamp wired in.

Got it working by trial and error but now sidelamp fuse keeps blowing, it didn't just after I wired it up so must have shorted when I put socket back together.

Going to rewire the lot from the front to the rear with caravan wire

Goin Doncaster with trailer in morning to pick galv chassis up as a well

Well I have received my, Mantec winch bumper - which allows fitment of my OE A Frame -and Goodwinch TDS-9.5i winch. Just need to get someone to fit it all now. Any recommendations in the Wakefield/Leeds area greatly appreciated.

went for a long drive today, is much better now, i must of mucked up something, initially the top end was down but i have sorted that, it is bit more lively (as much as a 2.5na can be) and slightly quicker top end.

Rocker cover gasket hasnt leaked one drop so i have stopped dropping oil all over the drive :-D

Done loads but this one has the wires fed wrong, blue sidelights and black indicator for instance. I''ll have to rewire the lot when I get time, its just as easy to feed the correct colours so I don't know why it was wired like this
