I have to say the L405 (I believe is the designation) doesn't inspire me to much from the sneak pics I have seen....especially looking at what the Land Rover design dept. did to the Evoque!!!

love the wood effect console, reminds me of the tvs we had in the 70's

Don't like the loose plastic stuff on the dash

I have seen pictures of the new model

Let's just say the pictures have turned me off the new model

Front looks very similar to the evoque !! Which just looks awfull in my opinion !

Hopefully the price of the older models will then come down so I can get my tdv8 vogue

Not long got back from Turkey... nice and hot didn't rain once!! kidney (or lack of it now) is fine seeing the doc soon so hope i can get back to work soon, got an allotment now try and do a little physical stuff so im not a lard arse (well not much of one any way) get some exercise in.. all in all not too bad at all thanks for asking

The big red button is for when the fault list becomes too much to bear, you press it and have 15 seconds to get out and run before it does the decent thing and self destructs.

The Evoque is supposed to herald the new design "signature" for Range Rover, those machine gun slit windows, sloping roofline, horrible bits of plastic brightwork and all. Very sad. My next and last LR will be a late model L322 I reckon. But in no hurry, loving my P38 inspite of her being a hysterical menopausal bitch sometimes!

Edit. Anyone seen pics of the new Defender? Its called DC100 and will really bring a tear to your eye.

I posted pics of the DC100 a while back, it's a fecking joke, a Gaylander in a new frock, normally front wheel drive, viscous to engage rear wheels when it's too late to do any good, cameras in the wing mirrors for "Terain Response" as owners cannot be trusted to select the right gear etc, I bet they will be just great when covered with mud. The fresh out of Uni geeks that are doing the design probably never been off road.

Apart from people who go off-road or boulder-crawling for a pastime (the type who normally modify their vehicles anyway) how often do off-road conditions actually get anywhere near the limits of any Land Rover product? I suspect an Evoke on the right tyres will go where most people actually need to drive. Even on the farm it's the tyres that matter.

Damp grass and wet mud will defeat any car on the wrong tyres add an incline and the lightest car will "win". Similarly "soft roaders" will perform perfectly well in most conditions as long as the tyres are right for the job.

Really? On a LR promo day, the only vehicle that made it up the muddy climb was a Defender, it lost it's exhaust on the way up. The Gaylander lost front grip and rotated until it faced back down the hill, the P38 broke down These were all driven by LR "Experts"
