Hello, tried searching for this but could not find the details I was after. Just bought a Discovery 2 V8 ES, there are a few niggles to work through with one being that the cap for the drivers side electric seats was in the glove box. The seat can move forwards, backwards and front/ rear/ up and down OK by pressing the legs sticking out, but I can't figure out how the switch cap was originally attached.... i.e it does not clip back on.

Anybody got any hints?

It should just push on, if it doesnt stay on then its broken, new ones rae expensive and hard to find so maybe look at a bit of the ol' superglue...

Look in similar age Rover group high end cars in the scrappy . Yes , they push on , usually the whole unit falls out of the cubby side panel too .

On the superglue idea, has anyone tried this/ which part do you glue? To me it looks like all of the 'legs' are in guides or sliding spaces.

If it is broken, is it usually just the (expensive for what it is!) cap that needs replacing or the switch part?

Mine, for no obvious reason popped out over the winter. I glued mine back in with two part stuff. Sorted it right out.

on mine the small clips that held the switch block to face plate broke on one end, so the switch block wouldnt stay attached...I used thin doublesided foam sticky tape, no glue getting into the switches...worked a treat for the last two years.
