Awaiting 2 pairs of inner and outer solid lower rear link bushes from John Craddock .
After JC totally ****ing me off quoting and charging me for genuine LR items they have come back after 2 days wanting more money saying they are out of stock of the genuine items but can supply Britpart equivelents .
I was expecting delivery today but it seems they haven't even sent them yet....
I've never used Britpart components are they as good as OE ? ( as JC insist )

Bloody hell!!!!!!! As Rimmer says "They want more money?" pmsl. Hope you havn't given them any money up front. After reading all the posts about britpart stuff I wouldn't trust an indicator lens to fit properly or not fall off after a week.

funnily enough there pattern indicators and lamps are better than most other, some pattern parts they sell are poor ,but they are often cheapest for genuine and oe and branded parts

OE Britpart spares are just that, OE. This means they are made in the same place as the originals.
I have bought several BP parts recently that are THE SAME PART as the genuine one, i'm not just talking about looking the same but having the manufacturers name & spec info cast into the moulding like the item being replaced.

Well due to circumstances I've just told them to send the Britpart items.
My local ( 65 miles away ) MD cannot get the genuine items until Monday and then they send by post so Tuesday at earliest and 2.5 times JC's price.
To clarify my original post ,on Tuesday I ordered two sets from JC over the 'phone whilst looking at their web page . The guy there acually got up from the 'phone and went and confirmed that the parts I was ordering were OE LR when I asked if they were..His parting words were " they're in the post to you today ".
Yesterday I got a call telling me that the inner bushes were out of stock and they expected more in today and would send immediatlly.
This morning I got another call from a woman saying none were in stock and new genuine LR items were " a lot dearer now " .
I went over the previous events and asked what the **** was going on , after another story I demanded to be put onto the guy who took my order. he proceeded to tell me they got an order in during the night ( ?) and now had two other manufacturers items ,one Britpart , but the genuine LR items were expected " sometime soon " but would be nearly twice the price. He assured me that they were to the same exacting standards as the OE ones ( yawn...) and more or less put me into the position of take it or leave it.....offering no apology for the **** up or the fact that their web site still was showing the original price and LR part number.
I think reading between the lines it's apparant what they're up to.
The car has to ber re NCT'd ( MOT) next week so I just couldn't put it off.
To be fair the bushes aren't expensive but my concern is their performance as my wife has to drive down a seriously rough 1.5Mile road to work each day and any crap parts just don't last.
Sorry John Craddock but your knocked off the top of the list now.......
Ho hum...........Thats the disadvantage of living in a beautiful but very remote area .

It won't be long before you knock Britpart off your christmas card list too, some of their stuff is truly shocking. You're only lucky you weren't dealing with them directly as they have zero customer care skills.

you have to be in the trade and have an account to deal with them i find them helpful

Fair enough, but as I've said before maybe they should only deal with the trade then & not take money off of individuals when they have no intention of providing any sort of service or even items as it ended up in my case. They could choose to behave like say Dingbro who when we once went to them politely redirected us to Premier motor parts who they supply after first looking up & giving us the part number. Funnily enough Premier didn't have it in stock & then phoned up the very same Dingbro branch who then shipped it over withing half an hour. It seemed strange at the time but we were dealt with in a very friendly & polite manner with everyone going out of their way to help with a small part. I now know not to go to Dingbro direct & go to Premier but after my experience with Britpart I know just not to deal with them or anything to do with them whatsoever.

I had a britpart Master cylinder fitted to my 04 td4.
It lasted 6 months and 4000 miles before completely giving up.
Got a genuine LR replacement fitted and its lasted 17k and counting..

Good with/for the trade doesn't mean good for the customer......****parts = don't last = more breakdowns, downtime and labour = good for trade??

as said there a wholesaler of genuine as well as pattern if i fit a poor part i have to redo job as do most ,genuine parts dont allways last either ,if you think most people fit pattern as a way of more business then your mistaken

You have a strange perception of the motor trade, round my way if a part fails prematurely it's usually up to me to put it right at no cost to the customer, if I didn't do that it's goodbye customer and a lot of bad mouthing, not good for trade.

Not really a perception just in my experience very many in the trade fit whatever is the most profitable and easily/quickly sourced part without enough thought of returning custom.
