Hi, I don't have anything out of the ordinary fitted to the car, as far as I can tell it just fried and died! fuses all seem to be in order............ a mystery. Someone suggested that the bigger alt maybe has a different pully? ie a 6 groove instead of a 5? any ideas on this? regards Tom

Hi Nick, Ok, have disconected the MAF, ran the car still have white smoke! I did only run it for a few mins, how long does the ECU take to reset? would it be worthwhile cleaning the MAF? Oh yes, the flickering charging light, well, that was just to let me know the battery was on the way out...

Hi Guy's' Nick, I checked the hoses, no holes and not collapsing, however new fault! the battery/charging lamp has started to flicker on and off! at idle it is off! and intermittent further up the rev range. Aggh! could be looking at an electrical fault? what are the symptoms of a bad MAF...
