which headlights

Hi all,
My first post here so please dont shoot me down in flames if I get stuff wrong!

I have a 2001 3 door Freelander and need to change the headlamps for european spec lamps, seen quite a few on ebay but not sure if they will fit my car?

Is there a guide as to which headlights can be fitted to which models? is it even possible to do?
I have seen lamps with orange indicators and without (as in my car) and lamps with no fresnel type lens cover, all look the correct shape but will they fit my body type?

any info much appreciated.

Can't help with the headlamps but I'm sure some narky old bastard will!!

for your pre-facelift freelander, you will need the headlights which look exactly the same as yours (i.e. fresnel lines). whether the indicators are coloured orange or white does not matter, it just means you will have to change the bulb.

it is possible to fit the later models, but you will also need to change the bumper and do some wiring mods.

these should be the right ones that look like this: (obviously you want the LHD variant)

but the ones below will not fit without changing the bumper and wiring:

(I know this shows the guard fitted, but look at the lamp behind, it has two distinct sections, one for dipped and one for main beam, these will not fit without modification)
