    100k Discos

Thanks for all the replies. The disco is a GS2002 facelift model. I thought the GS was pre facelift spec but I could be wrong

    100k Discos

Hi Chaps, I seen a number of disocs with 95-100k on the clock 02-03 plate facelift model. Whats likely to go wrong with discos with such high mileage. My brothers 97 disco needed clutch , suspension airbags done between 110-130k , anything else likely to go wrong at such high mileage or should i...

hmmm New Dsl engine in 03

As some of you have seen I'm looking to buy a LR. I've just seen a facelift 03 freelander with 72k on the clock but the engine was replaced at 62k. I'm confused , is this good or bad or a bit of both , it has a full LR service history. Cheers SB

    For Sale without Service history

I just spoke to a garage who claim they are getting discos from a main dealer. But they have no service history and told me i could get it from Landrover. The price is pretty good but alarm bells are ringing?

I've already had a look at AA warranty and some others, its pretty vague but one of things you can include is 4x4 cover , some specifically mention rear dif

Well i was looking at a car supermarket type place , the vehicles are ex-fleet etc. The price is bottom dollar thus no warranty up front but a full service history etc. I reckon a 1 year warranty all in would be about 600 or so

Whilst I know the freelander does and had reliability issues the insistance of the knowledgable folk on this forum that a warranty is a must is quite worrying. Perhaps a disco or a non landrover vehicle is the way to go. Hard to bloody know at this stage

Ah gotcha, I don't really need a total off roader myself as i won't be going into fields etc. I'm not mechanical minded at all so I'll be using an independant landrover mechanic. I still reckon the freelander is best suited for my needs , commuting (slightly better mpg) , small , able for mucky...

Why the facination with the disco? Too many jokes from workmates or every 2nd freelander being driven by a soccer mom?

Is a warranty that important, the 04-06 freelander is an improvement is it not? The reason i'm not going for a disco is purely that i don't need one. I need a small 4x4 for fecking around the back lanes of somerset and carrying some stock etc. I thought about a defender but i need to commute 25...

I'm looking at 2 Freelanders at the moment with the intention of buying. 1. S Spec 04 plate with 49k on the clock full service history 2 S Spec 05 plate with 79k on the clock full service history Both are the same price. I presume there would be 1 year left on the factory warranty. I...

    Jag to Defender 90

Thanks for all the replies, unforunately with those stats i don't think i'll be joining the ranks of the defender owning club. I thought the 90 might deliver something better than the 110 (body weight etc) but it doesn't appear so. I'm currently spending circa 60 quid a week on fuel and it...
