Ah, I can still raise the engine at the moment (mounts are just tack welded) but not too sure how much difference that would make owing to the angle -
suppose I could also raise the transfer case mounts slightly -

I thought the 300tdi would be okay too - some photos on google show a skinny prop but do not say where from...
Could do a bit of sump bashing but the prop actually touches the corner of where the engine mount strengthening joins the
engine bellhousing area.
An extra thin prop from a specialist...

Hello
I have the engine r380 gearbox and the series transfer case all nicely lined up but have just realised that the front prop will touch the corner of the sump. I have spoken to a propshaft company who will make a thinner prop but it will still only miss the corner of the sump by about 15mm...

Yes, all correct although the crankshaft pulley bolt is off centre with the hole in the cross member.

Yes, that's what I've checked - spirit level on the chassis then on the rocker cover but was waiting for someone to say ah or but !!
If this is correct then I'll go with the top of the front pulley level with the top of the front cross member.

Not welded in yet but Steve Parker brackets with the original 300tdi rubber mounts - R380 gearbox adapted to the series transfer case.

After fiddling around most of the day trying to level up a 300tdi in a swb series 3 would a good guide be about level with the crankshaft pulley/front cross member. One of the images was taken at an angle but barring the odd mm the top of the pulley is level with the front cross member. The...

I purchased the Ashcroft kit a couple of years ago and have finally got round to assembling it. Using the existing transfer case chassis mounts together with an R380 gearbox. Perhaps someone could help with
how/where you mount a bracket for the transfer case lever. A length of angle iron came...
