Changed my front diff at bures pay and play site yesterday. My one self destructed so bought a second hand one from the man with a trailer full of bits and bobs, even managed to scronge some new oil to fill it with.
-
I've fitted a range rover rear axle to my 92 defender, fitted straight on. It stops so much better now. Use the radius arms from a rangie and the front should bolt straight on.
-
The blue ones, Put a spanner on em, give it a clout with a hammer that should crackem loose, then a ratchet should do fine.
-
Buy 2 of the above plus 2 new bolts before you start as you could end up not being able to refit your bumper or A bar. The clips that make them captive rust and break (should come as no surprise). Loads of copper slip when you rebuild it anorl.........It will come off again then :D
-
The rear door was the only one working it was the fronts giving me grief, just de mudded them and squirted with de block oil then some chain lube lots of wiggling more spray and wiggling and they seem to be fine now.
-
Just finished fixing the door locks and handles on me defender, had bouts of randomly locking me in/out of it. Watching my mum climb out over the bulkhead and though the back door was funny but thought it was time to sort it out :D:o:D.
All fixed now but I don't see how they are so easy to...
