Thanks. Do the diesels have larger terminals on the back than petrol?

I'm trying to piece my series diesel back together. My steering column has a cover over the hole for the lock. Is there somewhere else for the switch on a s3? (it's a bit of a 2a/3 mixture)

Should the interior be painted body colour?
Ive got two different tubs and under the various layers of paint, both are grey behind the seats.
Thanks.

Hmm. Theyre a fair bit behind the axle. Also the pins point towards the back of the chassis. Perhaps they were hoping to go ploughing?
Anyway, i shant bother cutting them off, theyre not really in the way and who knows, i may find a use for them!

Just found this. May be of help to others.

As title. Random brackets welded on the chassis behind rear axle. Anyone know what they might have been for?
All the best.

After several months avoiding this project, i'm back on it again. Rear body off, axle off and much welding. Probably should have got another chassis with the amount of metal/gas/wire i've used!

There's some rivets where an id tag used to be. The only number stamped i can see is AWC 6641 (or poss AWG 6641) prob means nothing.
How do you mean strengthening bars? Through the crossmember or just weld a bracket on the front of it?
Thanks for the reply.

Just picked up this winch already mounted on a bumper.
1) What make is it?
2) How is it supposed to be attached to the cross member? There is a gap between the bracket and crossmember, is it supposed to be bolted right through?

If you have a good flow of fuel at injector pump bleeder with no air, but still have this issues with number 3, sounds like a pump prob but as suggested, either take injector pipes off at pump or remove injectors and reconnect to check they are actually spraying

Have now sussed it. Ive actually got a 2a gearbox!! Now got a different flexi so just need to sort the top solid pipe to fit.
Thanks all.

No im not sure! I think the landy is a jumble of bits so i dont know whats supposed to be fitted or not. When i got it, it had a solid pipe from master to slave but i didnt think this was right.
I picked up the solid pipe (master to flexi) from another scrap vehicle. It goes from the master to...

Thanks for your reply!
Ah that makes sense, however from looking at pics of that part, it seems a lot longer than i need (36mm?), as the flexi nearly reaches the slave anyway.
