Have you got new bits or just working with whats there? Its always nice to have some enthusiastic support anyway!

they worked fine when i drove it onto the trailer to fetch it home but ive had the axles appart all brake lines off and god knows what else for now ill just use whats there as long as i can get them to work at anything over 140 foot pound they should pass the mot

once i know the tricks of the trade with the brakes ill replace them for new sometime in the summer but for now i just need to get it neat safe and respectable as possible to get me from a to b to start earning itself back ;);)

Got the bulkhead back on tonight only to find that the bonnet hinges dont fit. Typical land rover must have changed it or something. Hoping to get away with smaller hinge bushes.
Anyone come across this?

did you change the bulkhead for a younger series 3 bulkhead but keep the original bonnet

if its like mine ended up as i mismeasured when i welded the hinges back on me bulkhead it was a tight fit to the outside edge of the hinges so i just ground a bit off either side of the bulkhead half of the hinges before i repainted the bulkhead

hope this helps :D:D:D

No, other way round. Its off a newer landy. Same design with the hook on bulkhead wih the plastic bush but they dont fit. Spoken to local landy dealer who say there is only one but im sure the hooks havnt been bent. It must be something to do with the age difference cos the old one had all imperial bolts whereas the new one is all metric. Plus i had to modify where the tunnel cover goes as that was different too.

After several months avoiding this project, i'm back on it again. Rear body off, axle off and much welding. Probably should have got another chassis with the amount of metal/gas/wire i've used!
