Diesel/lpg dual fuel.. Anyone tired it?

Theres a couple small mistakes there, thats now sorted. With mix and fuel eco gain at 30%, at £17.40 per 100 miles (saving £790 per year) with mix and eco at 25% (as I think is probably a little more reasonable), its 18.40 per 100 miles (saving £690 per year)

Diesel/lpg dual fuel.. Anyone tired it?

Just done a few calculations.. With lpg at £0.76 and diesel at £1.39 Running a 30% lpg mix as seems to be suggested, a discovery tank of 85litres (ish) add 25.5 litres gas. Costing £137.40. Assuming 25mpg, times 30% (as is the suggested fuel economy gain) gives 31.25mpg and lets you get 719...

    Penis of the week

A donar 2 door discovery I have wouldnt let me get in through the back door either. Needed to cut the wheel arches out for use in my range rover so out came the 9 inch grinder.. Door put up a fair fight but I won in the end!

Diesel/lpg dual fuel.. Anyone tired it?

Hi I'm thinking of getting an LPG system to convert my 200tdi to run on diesel and LPG together. Companies selling them seem to suggest 20-30% saving in overall fuel costs, as well as a significant performance increase! They say the main reason for saving fuel is due to the mix giving more...

    300Tdi fuel lines - alternatives?

When I put the 200tdi from a discovery into my range rover, I got a 10m roll of rubber fuel pipe (i think 8mm internal diameter but not 100%) which is enough to go from fuel take to filter, and back again for the return. Got it off ebay for about £20. Aswell as that I got a bunch of new jubilee...

    sedimenter

They're bolted to the inside of the chassis not body, in front of the fuel tank. When I grabbed a 200 out the donar disco for my range rover, the sedimenter was corroded to hell and wouldn't in anyway open up for a clean out so I checked with a very good local land rover garage, and they told me...

    conversion

Im not 100% sure, but I know the bmw 2.5 6 cylinder diesel is virtually the same as fitted to p38 DSE. If you have the same gearbox as the diesel p38's then I dont see why you couldn't replace the v8 with the diesel simply enough. You may find you have to put a range rover dse flywheel and...

Decarbon steering damper - anyone else find they're rubbish??

When I fitted my brand new rather expensive Decarbon steering damper to my range rover classic 2 door, I found it odd that it naturally extends all the way out like a normal suspension shock would. I thought surely this would make it steadily push the steering all the way until it hits the lock...

Cellular Dynamic steering dampers - worth it?

Just dont go for the DeCarbon steering dampers! I got one and they're not cheap at around 30 quid. Being gas charged they naturally want to extend, causing my range rover to now always want to turn right!! Not bad usually until you hit the motorway when your constantly having to put a bit of...

200tdi slow to heat up, any ideas?

Hi, My 200tdi from a disco (now in my 2door) takes ages to heat up. Sometimes up to temperature within 15 mins if I'm lucky and theres been some hills to get up, usually a fair bit longer.. It was worst than this, but when I did my cambelt 4 months ago, I also changed the thermostat and...

    f***ing,cu**,bars****,boll***ing,sh**y upper tailgate still opening

Is this for P38 or classic?? My classic upper tailgate also a bitch, rather stiff to shut and needs a fair push to make it shut. Once shut its like theres too much pressure on the catches and as you drive off you hear a click in the back which is the catches opening.. pain in the ass! and the...

Disco 2 suspension pick up point dimensions needed for Space Frame design

agreed on the I.S. front and rear, would be better. But as its also my final year uni project, and itll start to over complicate things within the time scale I have. And I'm thinking disco axles as they are cheap, easy to get hold of, and simple. Might be tempted to try Range Rover Sport front...

First Clutch change - BRITPART any good???

And yes, box will have to come out. They are darned heavy, done a few now and always a struggle due to the weight. Getting it out is fairly easy, but last time to put back in I split the gearbox from the Transfer box. Yes it means a bit more work essentially, but sooooo much easier to get the...
