its when ever it likes, but defo after giving it some,(ie foot down, tailgate fu***** opens)

no rust on shell ,tailgate solid!(ali) chassis solid..ok 400hp so chassis proberly twists under power...

mods please, want it to look standard, thinking solenoid dead locks?

You got Tourets or you just a little bit miffed.

I had a problem getting mine to open, had to push button many times. In desperation I holesawed 50mm hole opposite solenoid in the door card so I could see it in action. This cured the problem as it relieved pressure the door card was putting on it. I then got a plastic plug & modified it to fit. I know you have the opposite problem but it be a similar cause.

problem in opening????you having a laugh???

Is this for P38 or classic?? My classic upper tailgate also a bitch, rather stiff to shut and needs a fair push to make it shut. Once shut its like theres too much pressure on the catches and as you drive off you hear a click in the back which is the catches opening.. pain in the ass! and the adjusters for making the lower tailgate as low as poss, upper as high as poss, and the catches are all at there maximums.

Pain in the F****** A** much agreed!

I think next i might try getting the hinges out from under the headlining and spacing them outwards a bit to relieve some tension off the rubbers!

ali...

well had a trial electric solenoid run today..200miles,some of it at 7000rpm at full boost..(just to be sure you know)..didnt pop open!!!

so the idea will work, now to make the setup more fiendly.currently soleniods and mounts fitted to upper tailgate, fires the solenoids behind the body ,thus locking tailgate, solenoids fitted behind original catches..need to move solenoids to body and make nice catches that will fit to tailgate...an evenings work...oh and sort out a nice latching relay and push button switch,(or i thinks wire them up to spare button on alarm fob).at the moment on flying lead and cigerette light plug thingy..

lt85...actually..rather well ..ashcroft rules...though i dont dump the clutch to often!lol.

wanted the long stick look, and dave said tis stronger than r380..

but 5 speed right?

why did they ever go away from it? the lt85 I mean sounds ideal!

btw did you really "dress" you trans tunnel back so you could get overdrives in and out without dropping the back of the box? on you lt95's I mean.

had you a bigger tunnel with the er mixed provinance of your 2 door ?

cos it isnt it was for defender not rr ,it has 4 selector shafts so not as positive gear selection as lt 77 or r380 with single selector shaft

:p

ur not that ****ed yet then james.

btw on a more serious note, how much do you charge to rebuild an lt95 parts and labour?
