After reading this thread I haven't come up with a fix for the doors but I've bolted a steel plate under the slam plate for the bonnet so the scrotes can't pull the cable release for the bonnet. No pics as it's a secret. I'm just trying to slow them down. :(

Searched and found the answer. Yep, just took the catch out and lubed it up. Refitted for the moment as the cable hasn't actually snapped, just stretched. New cable ordered, it will only be a 30 min job to replace cable next week. :D 53 reg Freelander, due for MOT. Mrs wants a Defender...

From searching elsewhere on here a 10mm ratchet spanner is ideal for taking the 2 bolts out of the catch bolted to the actual bonnet using a few wooden wedges to lift the bonnet slightly. I've just done it in 3 minutes and I'm still buzzing. ;)

Just to help others out, with my small experience. I've recommended to Kyle to spend his money on a D1 range and diff lock lever (if his transfer box has the shaft fitted). Would anyone else agree this is a step forwards? The levers seem to be the same money as a used cable but offer so much...
