Good news update, Ive had the exhaust off/inter cooler pipe work off, did find a fair bit of leftover oil in the back box and some in the catalyst, so cleaned that up to the best of my ability re fitted it all had a quick drive and all seems to be well, no smell,no smoke. Think that's the job...

Same paranoia here, had a 200tdi half runaway once before, not fun :mad:

I did have that in the back of my mind since the oil overfill did cause oil to enter the exhaust, i bet there's a fair bit still in there. I'm assuming the higher revs is causing the oil to hit hot parts ?

Morning all, Recently after buying my l322 few weeks back i noticed the last owner had put about 3l worth of extra oil in the engine by mistake since the car was on a sloped drive i assume :rolleyes:, so i have since replaced the oil with some new stuff and that has cured the general blue smoke...

Yeah, It stays put regardless of whats on the display, i have also noticed you can see the lines when the display is totally powered down as well
