can anyone help ,,,just changed the engine in my defender 300 tdi and realised the new engine has a diesel pump with a black box on the back and 3 wires instead of a single wire to the fuel cut off how do i wire this odd item up.:confused:

no multi layer is several steel layers and supposed to hold better combuustion pressures

Thanks for your help I appreciate it as Im new on here but could you be a bit more specific if you have the time as I want to be sure I do the job once only at least for a while. The motor is slightly tuned and has had the pump tweaked and raised boost.

any particular reason as most shops have told me the multi layer is the way forward but heard bad reports.

Hi not too good on here so not sure where to write stuff. Blown my head gasket on my 300 tdi defender and was wondering if anyone could advise me on the best gasket. Multi layer or not as some say they dont work but there supposed to be the best.:confused:

been cleaning the engine bay and trying to work out if there is a belt available to use to remove the alternator on a 300 tdi defender and put it where people usually put the second alternator as I need the room where the alternator is at the moment and just want to move it to the other side...

Got it down to 13 secs now in my 300tdi 110 defender pickup after some more setting up but still on my bigger wheels so that's not helping and my tappets need doing must sort them.The new turbo system is awesome.

Got the tracking done and went for a spin to do some more setting up with the new turbo conversion.

I have heard that the injectors on the later 300tdi motor give more fuel does anyone have any views on this:)

Will try that in the morning rushed out after altering the screw and didn't have time to look further ,will be chuffed if it sorts it don't want to mess about with the relationship between the plates on the lincage ,though I could mark it up with a scribe I suppose.:D

Need to sort mine too, had to fuel to max to suit the new turbo conversion and the idle screw is turned down and no longer touching the arm any ideas the arm the throttle cable fits to seams to be in two pieces and seams adjustable.

Fitted a new turbo conversion kit on my defender and wow need to up the fuel a bit more but it feels like I have had an engine transplant awesome power.

I have 2 mates who are mot testers and they both tell me there are no such changes in the pipeline and a cat can be removed and makes no difference whatsoever to the mot hope this helps.:)
