Thx for ur reply, bits ordered, should be all back on the road later today weather permitting, hopefully now with little or no oily mess on the drive. I knew it was very leaky when I brought it, told the garage it looked like the head gasket blown, I managed to knock him down by £500. Tuns out...

Thx chaps, Luckily I managed to borrow an Allen key from a local garage who just happens to be a mate. Drain plug now resealed manifold and turbo all pipes now back on. Do you need to replace the two copper O rings to the turbo oil feed pipe? and also while doing the camshaft seal on the front...

A fine day for some leak fixing, I have stripped down the turbo side of the engine today spent all day taking bits off here and there. turbo off, manifold off, A/C compressor loosened, egr cooler off etc.. etc....so far I have replaced the camshaft seal and cleaned up all around, replaced the...

Update, Thanks to a good mechanic friend, a mirror on an aerial thingy (very useful), a torch and the use of a pit, here is what we found. The oil that is down the center of the block behind the turbo/manifold, is leaking from the oil filter housing gasket. The camshaft oil seal is also leaking...

Hi all, I pulled back on the drive yesterday to find a rubber part on the drive, I am not sure if it off my 2002 Disco 2 or weather is has just been flicked off the road... Has anybody seen this item before and is it of my car, if so where?. Please take a look a the pictures supplied, many thx.

I haven't got washer or circlip, after a little gentle persuasion i have managed to bend the strap down enough to stop it jumping off.. sorted.

Hi all, The rear door check strap keeps jumping off the lug.. I just cant see how it is supposed to stay on. Do I have a nut missing or something similar. All I have is the looped metal strap and the lug it sits on.. Any Ideas, I would be very grateful..Cheers in advance.

Hi, I seem to have been a bit of a TD5 newbie as I did not realise that the front climate control has to be on before the rear A/C is activated.....lol. Well now I know how to strip down the nearside rear trim and put all back together again..Lesson learned. I am going to start a new post as I...

Hi all, I have recently had a 2002 Disco 2 ES which was a replacement for my much loved previous 300Tdi......The car has been well looked after and maintained regardless of cost, plenty of bills to prove it has been cared for. Everything on the car works perfectly except for the rear A/C unit...

Hi Oliver,
I just followed robint advise, found a few washers that made up the gap between the shoulder and the thread. Not sure why it fell short but the fix was cheap and easy to do.
Just come back from mainland Europe after doing about 1800 miles in two weeks. No problems what so ever...
