What would the result be if the ram housing was leaking air from the gasket ? How would the Disco perform ?

I have a Disco 1 V8i 3.9L What is involved to change it from mecanical advance timing to electronic advance? It has a Dastec chip that controls fuel only and I want this to control timing as well for improved performance.:doh:

I had the same problem and it was the idle control stepper motor that was dirty. It sits at the back of the plenum chamber.

I am asking as my Disco suddenly started to lose power , not pull when accelerating and very jerky, I discovered that the vacume advance was faulty so I have replaced that, but still the same so I was wondering if it could be the Mass air flow sensor ?:doh:

The wine has been proven from the Xfer box in High range only. I have replaced all bearings, sand blasted all gears and replaced with thicker oil.

Well with a diesel you also have no power. I have a good sub and amp that takes away the whine, problem no one can talk. No oil addetives or something ?

I live in South Africa and looking for a simple answer. Do they wine ?

I have a disco 1 and want to do a oil change. I have read on sites that a synthetic oil is the best way to go, what is the best recommended oil for me to use? The Disco is a manual with 190000km on the clock. She sometimes grates when I change from 1st to second Thanks Martyn
