A tank full of premium unleaded and a bottle of injector cleaner solved the problem. It's now running like a little Swiss watch.

My '03 1.8 FL1 has just developed an odd misfire, it happens on a very light throttle when it will jolt slightly like it has missed a single beat. Has anybody come across this before?

Just a thought, but would waterless coolant go a long way towards preventing head gasket failure with the 1.8? As I understand it, because it doesn't boil there is virtually no pressure.
Has anybody looked in to this?

Thanks for that, got the track rods from McDonald 4X4 in Oswestry, not too far from me.

I have to replace the track rods on my 53 plate 1.8 Petrol due to seized adjusters.
Can anybody tell me what size socket fits the Torx bolts that attach the track rods to the rack?
I just want to make sure I have the right tools before I start.

Managed to fix it, cleaned the battery contacts with contact cleaner.
Should have thought of that before!

Recently got the low fob battery beeps when unlocking my '03 1.8 3 door so I fitted a new battery but still got the beeps. Thinking that I might have bought a dud battery I got another but the beeps are still there. Has anybody got any ideas or do I take it that my fob is knackered?
-
I would check the fuel pump.

Don't get too panicked about these faults, most Freelanders get them eventually and they're easy fixes.
I bought my '03 3 door with no propshaft and got a shaft off ebay that looked really clean but had a noisy bearing.
Put new bearings on and fitted the shaft and she's sweet as a nut.
If you...
