Freelander 1 Odd misfire

My '03 1.8 FL1 has just developed an odd misfire, it happens on a very light throttle when it will jolt slightly like it has missed a single beat. Has anybody come across this before?

Sounds electrical. Might be a coil pack breaking down. How old are the plugs and leads etc.

A tank full of premium unleaded and a bottle of injector cleaner solved the problem. It's now running like a little Swiss watch.
