Abs light comes on with ignition as it should.
Brake lights are not working now so must be switch, Sod's law these were working when I bought it.
It must be intermittent that makes sense as the 2 dash lights were not on when I drove it home.
I had this 'intermittent' problem. I had the three lights on and no brake lights.
It was the brake light switch. Think it was about £35.00 to replace and two minutes work to fit (although it's awkward to get at). Do a search on the site and you'll see some pic's regarding the newer version.

Yes all sorted now thanks. It was the brake light switch.

Don't get too panicked about these faults, most Freelanders get them eventually and they're easy fixes.
I bought my '03 3 door with no propshaft and got a shaft off ebay that looked really clean but had a noisy bearing.
Put new bearings on and fitted the shaft and she's sweet as a nut.
If you read the forums all cars have terrible issues but nobody posts that they don't have a problem do they?

I love my freebie, warts and all so here's wishing you much fun and many thousands of miles!
