twas the fuel pump assembly the pump ws pumping but the pressure reg was letting go after a while picked whole thing up for £40 nailed it in the tank and have not had a prob since.

Well i pulled the fuel pump out (again) pulled it apart, and found that a small O ring seal in the centre of the fuel filter was not where it should be (it was pushed up into the filter socket not on the groove of the spigot) not had chance to test the car yet. will keep you posted

No not sorted the 3 amigos yet, so i dont think the ABS would cut in. the noise sounds like a ruler held on a table edge being flicked, it that makes sense? plus the clutch has to be lifted to or near the bite to make the noise.

Just as i am working my way through the faults the car came with..3 amigos, sunroof, tailgate motor, fuel starvation.... I have a new prob, with the steering on or near full right lock there is a buzzing noise and what sounds like a relay clicking to the right of the steering column. any ideas...

I have been told that some of the seals around the fuel pump can fail. if i fill the tank and the problem does not show itself untill 3/4 tank then the seals are faulty. will keep you posted

if any one has read this thread looking for the help with this, this is what i found out after the motor has been removed you have to reset the system, that means when the glass is refitted the you must remove the battery for a few seconds to reset. i hope this helps

Thanks for all your input. Found the fault to be a pump relay but cleaned the pump screen anyway. Going to move on to the 3 amigos now, plugged in the lap top, no ABS system found !!! I know its there some where !!!! i have the lights to prove it !!!! Wish me luck.
