Hi all
1st posting here but have gained loads and loads of help reading others posts, so thanks all for your help.

I have just picked up a 2000 18 freelander with a missing rear window.
have stripped the door panel and found the cable rusted through.
Having read a posting about using a bike brake cable I will go down that path to save cash (yes i am a cheap skate)

I have pulled all the old wire out of the motor and then tested the motor.
It only goes one way, down. The cable broke with the window in the up position. Does the motor have to move the window down before it will move up? Is there a prob with the switch or wires? Does the window have to drop a touch to open the door when the handle is used?

Any help would be great.
Thanks

if any one has read this thread looking for the help with this, this is what i found out
after the motor has been removed you have to reset the system, that means when the glass is refitted the you must remove the battery for a few seconds to reset.
i hope this helps
