  • Hi guru of parts!!

I have put a salisbury axle on my 90 and it requires new brake shoes. Do I need to order stc359 or stc2797?

    Thank you
Hi, So i sent my disco in to have the clutch pack A done as suggested on here to a recommended transmission place. When they stripped it down they said it wasnt clutch pack A but something else so i agreed to have it done and when i got it back, my gear selection was totally wrong. It revs upto just over 4000 revs before selecting the next gear and then does some silly 3000 to 2500 to 3000 revs when selecting the next gear again. It now feels like im loosing reverse too :(
I rang the garage and they offered a refund but not to repair the issue, they only offered a full recon of the gearbox but unfortunately i can not afford this.
Does anybody have any idea whats gone so wrong here
hello james just to say the throttle is doing the job fingers crossed. wood you mind if I give you call about your thoughts on remapping my td5 51 plate if I can on mine regards steve
looks like std 2.25 ,nice truck aluminium is good but some work on the steel ,but on the whole a very nice project ,if you need any help please ask
Yes it seems strange that the two exist, I wonder if the 2.25 is non original, its only got 35K on the clock having been parked since 1987. The rest of it is in very good mechanical condition suggesting the mileage could be correct. The block has '49' stencilled in white on the side of it, my camera battery died before I could get a snap!
    Hi Jamesmartin,
I am told by Crashbox that you are the oracle when it come to Series 2 history! I have a 1959 Series 2 SWB registered on 01/12/1959 as WJF 22 now 831 UXE. Chassis number 141000988. It has the electric regulator and fuel pump mounted on the bulkhead which feeds the Solex carb. However it has a 2.25 petrol number 151007889 and the mechanical pump is not connected. Is this likely to be the original engine or has it been replaced do you think?
Thanks very much for your help

Hi James, hope all is well, would you know the part number for the bias plate for the return of gear lever on a disco td5, have looked on Rimmer Bros but not sure if it's called something else. Thanks
Hello again James. Just a quick question. What's the code number for the output bearing seal on back of transfer box behind transmission brake and is it on the actual seal? Cheers mate.
    Hi James,

I have the gear box out of my 300 tdi defender, as i need to replace the rear oil seal, i have heard a bit about some naff replacement seals out there, what you recommend ?

    Cheers

    Mark
Hi James, I posted a thread regarding my front diff and someone pointed me in your direction as apparently you recon them at a reasonable price, my diff isn't leaking as yet but there is a little lift up and down and you can turn the prop from about 10.00oclock to 14.00oclock. If interested could you give me a rough idea of how much it would cost or any ideas.

    Thanks
    Michael
