    TD4 dies while driving

Unfortunately I knew I was being done, but what can you do? Is there any way to test the fuel pump? I have read that the uplift pump usually only causes a problem when low fuel, however this happens at all fuel states. The thing that has me scratching my hear is, if the main fuel pump is...

    TD4 dies while driving

Hi All, My 2002 TD4 has recently started dieing while being driven (again). This time the power just goes, but restarts no problem. I get a engine management light and the fault code is "fuel pressure plausibility". This only happens after the engine has been running for a long time (usually 2...

    01 TD4 died while driving!

Update: ECU power and Glowplug power were trapped by the inlet manifold (thanks for the build quality landrover!) and had worn on each other over time. Removed inlet manifold and replaced cables and all is now well. What a problem to try and find thought! Later, Gray.

    01 TD4 died while driving!

Update; I think it has finally died and won't start. The yellow relay in the engine fuse box marked "engine symbol with lightening" I think F4 rattles like something not right with ignition switched on, cranking causes fuse to blow. Ho Hum. Gray.

    01 TD4 died while driving!

Well we can eliminate the synergy unit as this problem is reoccuring with out it in line. The only consistant elements; Engine running for 15-20 mins. Significant throttle demand as engine fuse blows (has only happened pulling away from lights / overtaking). Unfortunatly this is...

    01 TD4 died while driving!

Fuse F1 was blown which according to haynes is the "Glow Plug, Fuel pressure regulator, Boost solenoid, EGR solenoid and MAF sensor" The dealership put in a 20A, but according to haynes it should be 15A. Anyone else using 20A? Later, Gray.

    01 TD4 died while driving!

At the time, roverrons synergy unit was inline and functioning on both the MAF and fuel pressure sensor. So when I get the car back today I will put it back in and check if there is something wrong. Of course this is a second hand car to me, so I suppose someone could have put in an incorrect...

    01 TD4 died while driving!

Oh well, live and learn or is it live and don't learn? Fuse was blowen. Runs and hides! Later, Gray.

    01 TD4 died while driving!

Hi All, Not been around for a while as my TD4 has been behaving itself. That was until yesterday, while driving along the engine died with the engine management light coming on,there was no warning just power went. It turns over but will not start. When it happened there was no smoke or steam...

During oil change found MAF unplugged

Having looked on RoverRon's site it would appear that the MAF can only be disconnected with the air filter cover off? If that is the case then it must have been done on purpose. I will reconnect before I do anything else anyway, just wanted to get peoples views :) Thanks, Jed.

    TD4 Air conditioning problem

The valves are different size as well so it is not possible to refill the wrong side of the circuit. Later, Jed.

During oil change found MAF unplugged

Hi all, Over the weekend during my first oil change I found that the MAF sensor has been unplugged. The overal driving experiance is good, but I suppose there must be more power available if I fix this issue (does it cause any problems leaving it unplugged?). So to the question, should I get...

Oil change, possible with pump type device?

My drive is all gravel and not very stable for jacking etc. So I use the vacuum pump on my other car (volvo V70) and it works great. I did the change this weekend and I found that the dip stick does not drain all of the oil, but only a little was left judging from the colour once refilled. I...

Oil change, possible with pump type device?

Hi All, Tomorrow I will be doing my first oil and filter change. I use a vacuum pump to empty the oil on my Volvo via the dip stick tube. Can you get all of the oil out on a TD4, or do you have to do it from the sump plug? Thanks, Jed.
