Is the mechanical linkage through to the pot OK? I suspect the same as you.
We once bought a Merc flatbed off a farmer and it wouldn't go over 30. Not until we replaced the twisted wire in the throttle linkage with the proper bolt and nut...

Shucks
I knew you'd say it was knackered
Oh the joys of Land Rover.

Hi All
Now that winter is here I'm using my heated front screen, but it only partly works.
Now:::... it only works in bands across the screen. Some of each half works but not all.
Any ideas?

Thanks everybody.
It sounds as if mine is par for the course but I will check my viscous fan.

My D2 TD5 seems to take about 6 miles to warm up.
Is that normal?

I had that fault in the summer. Screeching noise on acceleration starts around 1800 rpm, got worse an worse and I thought the turbo must be going.
Nope.
Warped exhaust manifold. Iawa 4x4 in Wellingborough changed it for 200 notes (secondhand manifold).

MIne makes a whining noise when it feel like it, usually when turning right. I'm sure its a worn heater fan bearing.
Have you tried switching off the heater when the noise is present??

I had to press the eject button loads of times but my magazine came out eventually.

I have had a leaking exhaust manifold gasket for a while, and keeping that quiet means I have been using a very light foot.
The MPGs improved considerably...

I had something like this. Cheeping noise from 1800 revs upwards with power on, goes away immediately when power off.
My exhaust manifold was warped and one bolt sheared.
£50 secondhand manifold + gaskets + 3 hours labour - ouch!

Oh no! It's still doing it!!!
Evidently I have more than one fault.
Garage says the bags look quite new...
Going to wait until the chassis welding has been done - nastiness discovered by my trusty garage while fixing the broken sensor link - I've taken it back to the supplying dealer...
-
Well, finally I have got it fixed.
Not air bags but the O/S height sensor link was broken.
:D

My D2 isn't set to "always disarm with key", and I only have one key... Anyone near Northampton who can do this for me? Beer voucher on offer.

My Geist twin axle behaves a lot better at 100kg than at 80kg!
But I have to pile all the awning poles and heavy stuff at the front to get the weight up that high.
