To avoid any confusion I should emphasise it's the gearbox oil temperature light.

Sorry, didn't answer your questions - the ipod unit fits on to the back of the head unit, so I will be keeping it, and as I've been told there are no compatible CD changers now available, it will be replacing the CD. There's a big explanation on the car audio site about how they work. G
