Hello Annica and welcome to the forum.
-
Nice to have another freelander owner on board welcome.

-
Have you peeked under the front passenger seat to see if a multichanger is hiding there ?
-
Hi Remal
I think the multichanger was standard fitment on the ES what is your freelander ?
-
Had a look on fleebay mine looks like a Type No: 22DC597/60R, RG Part No: XQD 101730PMA but guess it depends on whether you have a multichanger.
-
Not sure what my model number is for my 2001 it is a radio and cassette with cd multichanger under passenger seat though.

Hi and welcome
As to the stone chips keep a eye out to see if it comes back, fitting front mudflaps may help. At a guess it was probaly some careless driving by a previous owner.
-
I will see if he has kept any of the bits from taking the stat mod off.
-
I guess time will tell but the modified thermostat never saved the freelanders original engine. I'm not saying its right or wrong it may be a case of trial and error.

Bought it about 11 years ago for £300 pound Sold it about 2 years back for £3250. Sad to see it go but seen it up for sale recently on milweb and not being sold by the guy i sold it to. We had a lot of fun going to shows in it but the kids grew up and were not interested anymore. Bought a brace...

Will ask my youngest mechanic son who fitted the engine on his return home !

The head had been sorted and a new water pump and cambelt. We also took the thermostat in the hoses out so we replaced top and bottom hoses with earlier type. There is now only the thermostat in the rear of the block.
