Evening all.
I'm turning my v8 in into a bit more of a dedicated off roader.. Ive got a set of race seats and 4 point harnesses I'm toying with fitting (she's already stripped out with no rear seats, carpets etc anyway).. Side mounts are easy enough but what to do about the rear mounting points...

Thanks for the info. I'm going to run a compression test tonight see if anything is actually down... If there is no loss of compression the next thing I'll do is flush the coolant system and see if the small amount of cream reappears... it's always possible (as the trucks new to me) that...

I had disco 1 seats in the front of my old s3.. not that difficult to fit using the disco slider mechanism and some slim box section to act as a spreader and extention to bolt to the original holes... much more comfy but they are a little taller so they may get you too close to the steering...

I've just fitted a 300tdi into my s2a swb.. It's certainly do-able but a few things to bear in mind:
Engine mounts will need cutting off the chassis and replacing with ones suitable for the 300tdi (as the drivers side std one goes exactly where the oil filter is... This isn't hard but you need...

Thanks for the replies and thoughts.. I'm going to spend a bit of time pondering the options. I do like the idea of a professionally made cage but the only downside (if you can call it one) is that it would have to wait a while as they are a bit more money than I have currently.. infact one...

started the strip down of my s2a project.. pulled out the load bay plywood the last owner fitted only to find holes in the floor of the tub. Can see it's a mix of spot welds and pop rivits to remove.. question is does it have to be replaced/refitted like for like for mot? Or can I...
