have just cured my leaking sunroof after reading this,none of whats been mentioned has worked for mine,so off to local metal suppliers for a piece of chequer plate and some pop rivets.job done forever!

hi all,have bought a 300tdi disco recently.this morning i got a letter from dvla saying that this vehicle needs a vic check,and that i wont get my logbook till this has been done. what i want to know is does the disco have a chassis number stamped into the chassis anywhere?? if so does any body...

had this problem recently on a 300 tdi disco,after weeks of arsing about changing every thing possible, i took 1 thin shim out of top swivel pin on each side and cured the problem instantly.

i bought mine cos it was only 150 quid with tax and test,been the best vehicle i have had.good for towing,good for playing in.what more can you ask for? i like it so much i just bought another one yesterday!

forgot to say i welded box section across top of chassis before welding the floor in.the way i did it meant i could drill through floor and box section for my seat belt mounts.it might be a bit over the top for a boot floor,but now i know it wont rust through and i can throw owt in the back...

looks like your doing a proper job on that, when my floor needed doing i could'nt be arsed to mess about with all them edges and support straps,instead went to local fadricator and got them to cut me a new floor out of 4mm thick steel plate.this covered the whole rear floor in 1 piece best bit...

i find it much easier to take engine out when fitting a clutch.

job sorted now,it was the metal water pipe that runs across the head.it was blocked with ****e!!!

just below halfway.

all i do is cut all the ****e off that corrodes along the edge under the back door,weld in a piece of 4x2 box section (63" long),then the body mounts are easy as well,piece of 2x2 box welded onto the chassis body mounting and welded to the underneath of the other box section. takes me 8hrs to do...

i changed rad because fan went through it when it fell in bits,water pump because it was leeking and there wasnt a thermostat in it.an not bothered about price of bits they all go through my business.

its easier to weld a piece of 4x2 box section in than a cross member,must have done 15 like that now!!!! never had anymore problems with them.

viscous fan is ok put a new one on after it fell in bits.
