hi just took my k reg discovery in for mot and failed on rear brake disks and foglights so going to change the discs but the foglight switch lights up inside but nothing happens on the rear, bulbs seem ok any ideas what to look for

having no luck trying to get one off ebay they are not the right number mine is 5 pin and the number is 53900033a does anyone no on here any shops in the teesside area that will sell these being asking people who are breaking there discovery and still no luck or will a relay from a different...

checked voltage on battery it was 12.4 charged it for a couple of hours giving me 13.4 and engine started straight away no machine gun noise just normal starting

its a manual gearbox havent tried jumpstarting it yet might give that a go its sounds as if the starter motor is jamming or sticking but very fast hence the machine gun like sound

tried a different battery in it and it tried to start for about 2 seconds then went on to the loud machine gun noise so put the other battery back in and it just goes on to the loud machine gun noise straight away confused surely if the starter motor is knackered another battery should not...

hi i trtied to start it today and it will not even fire all i can hear is a noise like a machine gun as if the starter motor is jammed or something is there anyway of testing the starter motor off the car it was fine before this no starting problems at all now just a loud noise from the starter...

tried changing the bulb but still the same problem i think ive found the right relay near the steering column as it clicks when the indicators are on geuss ill have to get another relay

hi my discovery smokes when the engine is started but then it just disapears and runs fine is this normal its a 2.5 tdi cheers
