hi my indicators are all working outside the but there is no display on the dash any ideas what to try

Had this problem on my 90, a fresh bulb in the dash was the fix for me.

had the same problem on my 200tdi it was the flasher unit drivers side under dash behind the steering colmn on the bulkhead. Cant remember how much but it seemed dear for a flasher unit think it was @ £20 sorry i cant find the invoice ,its a straight swop best o luck mate hope yhis helps dave

As above, there are two circuits in the flasher unit external lamps & internal lamp it that circuit that's faulty other than a faulty bulb of course.

tried changing the bulb but still the same problem i think ive found the right relay near the steering column as it clicks when the indicators are on geuss ill have to get another relay

having no luck trying to get one off ebay they are not the right number mine is 5 pin and the number is 53900033a does anyone no on here any shops in the teesside area that will sell these being asking people who are breaking there discovery and still no luck or will a relay from a different model fit cheers

Try YWT10002L Flasher unit electronic for towing, the number may have been updated.

If your 200TDI has the same "fuse board" as the 300Tdi you will need a genuine one for this flasher relay.
The relay sits in a socket in with the fuses. The non genuine ones (while having the right pins) have the wrong shape body and wont fit in the socket. You will also find that the non-towing one is a lot cheaper, but is nice to see the trailer symbol on the dash flash once when you put the indicator on with no trailer attached and flash while the indicator is on with a trailer attached, which is what you get with the towing one.
BTW...even though they are "genuine" they are labelled Lucas....as opposed to some brand you have never heard of from a motor factor or Halfords

sorry to hijack the thread but i have a similar problem .....
mine works ok inside and out on turning left , but only works outside and one trailer click for turning right , the dash light does not light inside when turning right .
so it can't be the bulb as i think its the same bulb for left and right as the symbol shows a left and right indicator with a light between them when turning
any ideas ?
its an ...err ...embarrassed look on face ...2.0 mpi...doh !
